Písek’s modern history has been defined by stability at third-tier level, earning promotion to the Bohemian Football League in 2008 and remaining a regular participant since, aside from a brief absence in 2013–14. The team traditionally fields a young, predominantly domestic squad, with an average age in the mid‑20s and very few foreign players.​
